A year without Alessio Murgia , who died 18 years old on 7 July 2021 in a road accident in Corso Margherita di Savoia in Sassari.

A tragedy that had a national echo, which took place after the celebrations for the victory of the Italian national team in the semifinals of the European football championship.

“He left with the ball - explains his mother Luciana Nuovo - with whom he has always lived”. The great passion cultivated from an early age: "His first word - continues Luciana - was a go-goal".

To remember him, a football tournament was organized in Li Punti. Within the event a fundraiser for charity: "In favor of the Manuel Dore and San Filippo Fighters association that deals with rare diseases".

There was a large participation of friends, acquaintances, residents and not only to testify the solar legacy left by ' Alessietto ': “He left a huge void in many. He was a selfless person, who had a smile for everyone ”.

Alessio's empathy recurs in his mother's memories: "If others suffered, he too suffered". Also capable of great joys such as the one experienced on the night of the accident: “He had auditioned at Vanni Sanna. Luciana explains where she finds the strength to go forward: “In faith. I always say that I have two children: for one I cook and wash clothes, for the other I give my prayers ”. As for the boy who drove the car at 2.30 in the morning of that day, the lady is clear: " I forgave him immediately but we don't meet".

Meanwhile, the final is being played and Luciana says: “I am excited and happy. He would have liked this tournament very much ". On his shirt and that of many others, as well as on the image that portrays him at the entrance to the football field, the words "Trust ... It's worth it". “He always said it and it's as if he still said it. For me he already sees what we too hope to see: glory ”.
