Other checks in Sassari clubs, bars, shops and supermarkets by the local police in order to counter the phenomenon of the sale of alcohol to minors.

Over the weekend, a bar was sanctioned in which alcohol and spirits were served to customers sixteen and seventeen.

In recent days in a place that in the past - for the same reason - had already been sanctioned, the plainclothes officers found minors consuming alcohol at the table. Same situation in another bar, where 17-year-olds drank beer.

Previously, even a supermarket had been fined for being able to buy alcohol without any supervision.

National legislation provides for a fine of between 250 and one thousand euros for those who sell alcohol to minors. In the event of recidivism, a penalty ranging from 500 to 2 thousand euros is applied, with suspension of the activity for three months. The ban applies to minors under the age of 18, over sixteen, while the administration of alcohol to minors under the age of 16 is criminally sanctioned by article 689.
