Voluntary murder with the aggravating circumstance of sentimental attachment : this is the accusation looming for Filippo Turetta for the murder of Giulia Cecchettin. The investigators should also accuse him of premeditation.

«The discovery of the girl's body clearly requires the change of the charge - explained the head of the Prosecutor's Office Bruno Cherchi -: it is voluntary homicide, at present, but it is a provisional charge because we have to carry out all the technical checks on the places, on the finds, on the car. We need to hear Turetta's version of events and only at that point can a more complete approach be made ."

The 22-year-old is under constant surveillance in Halle prison . The delivery to the Italian authorities is expected to take around ten days, but the spokesperson of the German court did not go too far and actually reported that no request has yet arrived from Italy from the Italian Ministry of Justice.

The procedures cannot be skipped, the Italian application must now be updated with the crime of voluntary homicide , and no longer just attempted homicide as it was in the first days of the affair. An update which, as explained by the Venice Prosecutor's Office, entails a new appearance for Turetta before the German judges to confirm his desire to be handed over to Italy also on this charge .

Filippo Turetta meanwhile spent the third night in cell: "We know that he was found in great pain, shaken," said his lawyer Emanuele Compagno.

No interrogations for now, but Venice's chief prosecutor Bruno Cherchi explained that «if the German procedure took a long time we could think about going to hear him in Germany . But we will see this in the next few days."

Turetta, we read in the investigating judge's precautionary custody order, is "dangerous and could repeat violent conduct towards other women". " The young man's unprecedented ferocity - we read again - demonstrates his total inability to control himself ." In addition to the risk of repeating the crime, for the investigating judge the measure of custody in prison is also necessary for the risk of alteration of the evidence, "given that the suspect abandoned the body in an inaccessible place, to prevent it from being found, making thus the ascertainment of the dynamics of the fact is more difficult". Given that Turetta fled for days until he was arrested in Germany, there is finally the danger of escape.
