After the fateful "night before exams", this morning 536,000 Italian students will begin the high school exams. Among them 12,444 Sardinian boys , or 91.8% of those enrolled in the last year, the lowest percentage at a national level, as Sardinia - with 8.2% of those not admitted - turned out to be the region with the most "failed" in Italy .

For all the "survivors" there is the first obstacle: the Italian test . The test, common to all curricula, includes seven tracks (artistic, literary, historical, philosophical, scientific, technological, economic, social fields) divided into three different types: two analyzes of the text (one poetic and the other prose) , 3 tracks of argumentative text and 2 current affairs.

Svevo and D'Annunzio had dominated the total traces on the web on the eve and, for current events, the conflict in Ukraine and artificial intelligence. Instead, Moravia was proposed, with an excerpt from "Gli Indifferenti", and Salvatore Quasimodo , with "Alla nuova luna", which is part of the collection "La Terra inparabile". In the tracks also the text "In praise of waiting in the era of Whatsapp", taken from an article by Marco Belpoliti, and "The idea of a nation" by Federico Chabod .

And again: a text taken from Piero Angela - "Ten things I learned" - an excerpt from "Interview with history" by Oriana Fallaci . Another topical trace recalls an open letter sent in 2021 by the academic and cultural world to the former Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi , to invite him to reintroduce the written tests at the Maturità, interrupted due to Covid.

The boys received the best wishes of the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara, accompanied by a piece of advice: "Take the exam without fear and with serenity". And then good luck from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni : «The day of the high school exams has arrived, I remember the anxiety but you will remember what happens today for the rest of your life. Face it head on ."
