This morning, the Naples Financial Police reported eight unlicensed doctors , believed to be performing unlicensed surgery and aesthetic medicine procedures. According to the investigations, the perpetrators primarily practiced subcutaneous injections of botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid , which, by law, must be performed by a specialized surgeon.
Clients were welcomed into private premises or homes equipped with beds, lights, and professional equipment. However, the conditions were found to be precarious, and the medical devices were unsuitable for addressing potential complications during the treatments. It also emerged that some of the fake aesthetic doctors were receiving basic income or inclusion benefits.
The services, advertised through social media profiles, were offered at significantly lower prices than market prices. Upon completion of the inspections, law enforcement reported the eight individuals responsible for practicing medicine illegally and seized three commercial premises.
Additionally, approximately €3,000 in cash was confiscated. Among the equipment and dangerous substances found, the police seized: 130 vials of Botox for injection, dozens of packages of injectable dermal fillers and reshaping products, over 160 hyaluronic acid syringes , labels from previously administered medications, as well as over 3,000 needles, sterile syringes, test tubes, bottles, and tubes of anesthetic ointment.
