About fifty sheep have been stuck for several days on a sheer rocky spur after having escaped from the pasture where Stefano Villani, a 32-year-old breeder recently awarded the Oscar Green by Coldiretti, had taken them.

It happens in the municipal area of Val Masino (Sondrio). In recent days, the man asked for help to bring them back downstream to the firefighters of the provincial command. Nothing to be done, after several helicopter overflights the firefighters, accustomed to rescue operations of hikers, had to give up: the operation was too risky.

But Villani did not give up: the sheep, now in danger, had escaped his control from the mountain pasture he managed this summer. The farmer therefore requested the intervention of a helicopter rented by a private company to bring his animals back to safety.
