Three of the four teenagers who ran over and killed Cecilia De Astis have been removed from their families and placed in a safe place. after stealing a car in Milan.
The order was executed between Wednesday evening and last night by Milan's Local Police, while the search is ongoing for the fourth minor, the eleven-year-old, who is currently unaccounted for. The emergency order, local police explain, " was necessary because the families had left their home without communicating their intentions , despite good cooperation during the initial investigation."
The minors involved in the road homicide will then be placed in protected communities with the collaboration of the Milan City Council's emergency juvenile response team.
The decision to take the three children to a safe place, the local police explained, was made in agreement with the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, which had just filed urgent appeals for the protection of minors and was awaiting the necessary decisions from the Court.
A minor was stopped, with the assistance of the Piedmont Highway Police, on the A6 Turin-Savona motorway near the Fossano toll booth , in the province of Cuneo, heading towards Ventimiglia. Two brothers, including the driver of the car that caused the death of Ms. De Astis, were also stopped in Piedmont at a Roma camp in the municipality of Beinasco , in the province of Turin.
