No more glasses of alcohol for Queen Elizabeth II, starting with the beloved Martini who, according to reports, has always loved to sip at the end of the day from time to time.

According to the “Vanity Fair” indiscretion, the court doctors ordered it.

The recommendation would have been made to protect the health of the sovereign - all in all good, considering her 95 years -, in view of a season full of renewed public commitments after the Covid emergency: commitments already resumed at a moderate pace in recent weeks and destined to continue with the presence of the ruler at the Cop26 international climate conference in Glasgow , under the British presidency, at the beginning of November. To then get to those that will lead up to the 2022 celebrations of the so-called Platinum Jubilee: the 70th anniversary of Elizabeth II's accession to the throne.

"She was told to give up her evening shot, which is usually a martini," reads the newspaper, which cites testimony from alleged "friends" of the Windsor household.

It seems the queen isn't much of a drinker.

His mother, the popular Queen Mum, who died at nearly 102 in 2002, seems to have continued to drink her favorite cocktails, gin and tonic in the first place, until almost the end of her days.
