The conflict between the United States and Iran is heating up with new targeted strikes conducted by U.S. forces in the Strait of Hormuz region . The raids, which left 11 dead, prompted an immediate response from Tehran , which announced retaliation against U.S. targets , which it called a "decisive operation."

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said they had hit US bases with missiles and drones in Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait.

The IRGC said it "conducted a coordinated missile and drone attack on bases in Erbil" that destroyed a maintenance center, warehouses, and the "guidance system of a US surveillance balloon," according to a statement carried by the IRNA news agency.

Meanwhile, six months after the Israeli-American attack that triggered the war in the Persian Gulf, Iranian President Massud Pezeshkian met with Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping , receiving in particular the Kremlin leader's assurance that Moscow remains faithful to the friendly relations based on the Strategic Partnership Treaty between the two countries and therefore intends to provide Tehran with "the necessary assistance" in "this difficult period".

Meanwhile, the G20 Finance countries, with the exception of China, have agreed to a Strait of Hormuz with "free, safe and predictable navigation" .
