A staggering 13 million Dutch people voted in yesterday's snap elections after the government fell in June. With nearly all votes counted (97.7%) in yesterday's general election, the race is neck and neck in the Netherlands between the progressive liberals of D66, led by the young Rob Jetten, and the right-wing, nationalist, anti-Islam party PVV led by Gert Wilders, according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

Both parties are credited with 26 seats, and late at night the difference between the two was only 2,300 votes in favor of D66. In the evening projections, D66 was given the lead with 27 seats against the 25 of the PVV, which however closed the gap during the night.
