Closed the first round of administrative in Sardinia: 38 mayors have been elected, uncertainty only in Assemini where there will be a ballot.
The final turnout on the island is 63.22%, in line with the previous session (63.07%) .
In Assemini it collapses to 46.6% (in the previous one it stood at 50.06), instead it rises in Iglesias, to 65.15 (against 59.13). Data by province: in the Cagliari area the lowest turnout (50.5%), in the Sassari area the highest (71.49%). Turnout at 66.56% in the Nuoro area, 66.24% in Southern Sardinia and 65.5% in the Oristano area.
Below is the list of the new first citizens, municipality by municipality.
- Iglesias : a plebiscite for the outgoing mayor Mauro Usai, confirmed with over 70% of the preferences , as head of a center-left coalition extended to the civics headed by Action, Article 1, Socialists, Fortza Paris and the former UDC. Detached, around 25%, the challenger Beppe Pes, who had united a piece of the center-right and exponents of the M5s. In the queue, around 5%, Luigi Biggio, candidate from the Brothers of Italy list who competed alone: "An identity choice, another 5 years of opposition await us", commented the loser.
- Assemini : the other center with more than 15,000 inhabitants to vote in this electoral round in Sardinia goes to the ballot . The man to beat is Mario Puddu. The former grillino mayoral candidate (he had been the first pentastellato to lead a municipality in Sardinia) reappeared, after having stood still for one shift, supported by a centrist coalition made up of Riformatori, Sardegna 20Venti, UDC and a list that bears his name . Puddu is ahead , while he is head to head between the other two challengers (hundreds of votes behind the former M5s): Niside Muscas (FdI, Lega and FI) and Diego Corrias , who represents the centre-left coalition extended to include the M5s .
