An autopsy on the body of Giovanna Satta, the 25-year-old from Padru , who died last week in the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Sassari University Hospital will be performed on Tuesday, at the Pathological Anatomy Institute of the Aou in Sassari. a caesarean section.

The deputy prosecutor Paolo Piras ordered the autopsy examination and appointed the coroner Francesco Lubinu and the gynecologist Gavino Angelo Buscarino as consultants.

The victim's family, represented by the lawyer Giampaolo Murrighile , appointed the coroner Roberto Demontis and the gynecologist Anna Maria Fughesu , both from Cagliari, as a biased expert.

The investigations requested by the Prosecutor's Office must give answers on the cause of death, on the patient's clinical history, on the appropriateness and timeliness of the treatments received . Based on the results of the examinations, the prosecutor will decide whether to close the investigation or whether to continue with the investigation, thus entering names in the register of suspects to ascertain any responsibility in the death.

Giovanna Satta was in the sixth month of pregnancy, a difficult and risky gestation; she died the night between 10 and 11 October after undergoing a caesarean section to give birth to her third daughter.

The surgery had gone well, the baby was born without problems, but her mother died a few hours later due to a hemorrhage.
