The Sassari Adm officials on duty in Alghero , together with the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza, during the normal control activities found in the luggage of an Italian citizen, coming from Egypt via Roma Fiumicino, 9.50 kg of mango and 628 grams of mango seeds , without packaging and label and without health certification .
The precautionary seizure has been ordered, pending the health and hygiene opinion of the competent health authority and in order to prevent any contamination of local crops with potential pathogens vehicles.
Protective measures against the introduction and spread in the European Community of organisms harmful to plant products are among the priorities of the Excise, Customs and Monopoly agencies.
