New stance taken against the industrial project presented by the company Sorgenia Renewables srl , which envisages the construction of a new wind farm on the slopes of Montiferru .

A system to be installed in the municipalities of Seneghe and Narbolia, but which will also affect the municipalities of San Vero Milis, Zeddiani, Siamaggiore and Solarussa as regards connection, transformation and road works.

After the entry into the field of the ecological association Gruppo d'Intervento Giuridico (GrIG) , which already presented an act of intervention in the environmental impact assessment procedure on Saturday 3 September, Italia Nostra Sardegna is now taking sides against the new park. which presented "reasoned observations" requesting that the Technical Commission of the Ministry of the Environment issue a negative opinion on the industrial project .

The installation of 9 wind turbines with a height of 210 meters is planned, capable of sweeping an aerial surface of 2.7 hectares each . The construction of a similar plant, specified by Italia Nostra, involves a significant subtraction of resources to the territory . Material resources, which impact on penetration paths, dry stone walls, traces of historical buildings, and intangible resources, directly connected to soil consumption and its exploitation released from a participatory and sustainable local development strategy .

The first and major critical factor, explained by Italia Nostra, "concerns the extension and size of the work, as well as its 'duration'". Furthermore, "the unthinkable - for those places - height of the blades triggers a disproportionate gigantism that undermines the perceptive relationships of the vast compendium characterized by the hills and mountains of Montiferru and Sinis, areas already burdened by the presence of numerous other wind and photovoltaic parks " .

«Our Association – they add from Italia Nostra – believes that the implementation of the energy transition in Sardinia requires a policy capable of enhancing and supporting the initiatives of the self-producing communities and citizens », «accompanying and supporting their action» favoring «the development of an innovation ecosystem that respects local communities».

Industrial plants such as the one proposed «represent a brake on this desired path. The agricultural vocation, in its landscape, social and cultural repercussions, constitutes the peculiar character of the area subject to intervention, and also defines its development perspective with reference to the prestigious wine and food productions and the activities that would derive from this sector as direct or indirect induced: services, food production, tourism, etc".
