The 65-year-old woman from Marrubiu , who two days ago tested positive for Nile fever, the seventh case ascertained in Sardinia according to the latest integrated surveillance bulletin published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Iss), died in the hospital in Cagliari .

From what we learn, the victim - Tonina Pisola - was also suffering from other pathologies and was already hospitalized at Brotzu .

"I received the news a few hours ago, we are close to the family - said the mayor of Marrubiu, Luca Corrias - both on September 15 and in recent days we have urged the Province of Oristano to intervene immediately with the disinfestations . We want them to take place not only in the hamlet of Sant'Anna but in the whole of the country, given the density of mosquitoes and the crossing of a watercourse ".

The report of the infection had arrived at the ASL of Oristano in the evening of 27 September, the Prevention department was immediately activated.
