It was in the stroller that the mother pushed on the pedestrian crossing in via Cadello, in Cagliari. It was February 2022: the scooter of a Cagliaritan whose license had been withdrawn hit the little family and the child Daniele Ulver, who was 15 months old, died in the collision.

Today came the sentence for the man who drove the scooter, Emilio Pozzolo, 38 years old. At the end of the process with the abbreviated procedure, Judge Elisabetta Patrito ruled that the man will have to serve seven years and four months in prison , plus the revocation of his license and suspension from public office for the duration of the sentence.

The prosecutor had rejected a request for a plea deal made by the defendant's lawyers , who had proposed four years and eight months in prison. The judge, on the other hand, deemed it necessary to apply a higher sentence, despite the reduced sentence provided for by the shortened procedure.

Pozzolo was defended by lawyers Patrizio Rovelli and Fabrizio Rubiu.
