The visual communication between the boss detained under the 41 bis regime and a woman, with whom the man established a correspondence during his years in prison, cannot be prohibited.

This was established by the Court of Cassation, which rejected the Ministry of Justice's appeal against the ruling by which the surveillance court had accepted the request of Cosa Nostra boss Davide Emanuello to challenge the ban imposed by the director of the Sassari prison.

During his detention, the man had engaged in an intense correspondence with a woman, which later led to a romantic relationship. This led to his request to meet his new girlfriend for a face-to-face meeting in prison, according to his lawyers, Valerio Vianello Accorretti and Lisa Vaira.

According to the judges - who emphasized the right to affection - the man has the right to have his request recognized.
