Today we are reporting yet another attack on Social Services; window frames were torn out and windows smashed using chairs and kicks. Furthermore, employees were threatened, once again risking their physical safety .

CGIL, CISL, UIL DiCapp, and the entire RSU (union of workers) once again denounce a very serious incident of violence against workers in the Alghero offices. "The intervention of law enforcement limited further damage to personnel and equipment. The agency's staff are exposed every day to serious situations that cannot be minimized and for which the municipal administration must implement appropriate and urgent solutions to protect the safety of its workers," the statement continues.

Meanwhile, the Noi Riformiamo Alghero group expressed solidarity with the municipal employees. "The attack they suffered, involving physical threats and damage to their offices, represents a very serious matter that cannot and must not be underestimated . Social services play a fundamental and irreplaceable role for the community, often operating under difficult conditions and on the front lines in responding to the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population. It is unacceptable that those who work daily for the public good should have to fear for their safety," wrote Alberto Bamonti , city councilor. This is not the first time this has happened. Last May, a man barricaded himself in the Social Services offices, and during the intervention of the local police, an officer was injured by an elbow to the face.
