A year and a half of nightmares for a woman from Valledoria. At least according to the charges that led to her 34-year-old ex-partner's trial for domestic abuse and assault, allegedly committed between 2022 and 2023. Yesterday, the hearing took place in Sassari before a panel presided over by Giancosimo Mura, with Monia Adami and Sara Pelicci on the sidelines. Prosecutor Ermanno Cattaneo recounted the incident, in which the man allegedly repeatedly verbally and physically assaulted the woman , even in the presence of her son, who was less than two years old . He subjected her to beatings, headbutts, and death threats such as "I'll kill you" and "I'll make you disappear," before, on one occasion, rummaging through cutlery and terrifying the victim of the potential consequences.
After their relationship ended, he threatened to take her child away, claiming to have powerful connections to achieve this, even at the Juvenile Court in Rome. Some alleged acquaintances, according to his threats, also made both his ex-partner and her father disappear. "If anything happens to me because of you, they already know where to look for you," he allegedly told her, referring to the possibility of him going to prison. He allegedly repeated the same threats to his elderly father, such as "I'll knock out all her teeth with a saucepan."
He allegedly punched his former father-in-law several times, causing a broken nose and requiring a month of treatment in September 2023, as recalled by the civil plaintiff's lawyer, Luca Sciaccaluga. The prosecutor requested a sentence of 3 years and 1 month , but excluded the aggravating circumstance of having committed the violence in front of his son. However, he requested an acquittal with a doubtful plea for the injuries alleged against the 71-year-old. The other civil plaintiff lawyers are Eleonora Bianco for the woman, Monica Cazzari for the minor, and Luciana Pisano for the defendant.
