Usini's heart lights up and welcomes two Ukrainian twins, Polina and Aurora, with open arms, accompanied by their mother Oksana.

The family will be hosted by two families in the town where they will celebrate their sixth birthday. The mayor of Usini, Antonio Brundu, received them in the council room, an unrepeatable emotion for those present.

"The city council together with the whole country embraced the first Ukrainian citizens who arrived in this municipality - said the mayor - thanks to Manuel Masia, president of the council of associations, who managed to take them away from the war".

They crossed Europe, a long journey through Italy to Sardinia. Disembarkation in Olbia and arrival in the village. A pleasant surprise and a welcome from the whole administration who wanted to ask many questions to the mother of the twins and their two grandmothers, Valentyna and Rymna. They escaped from hell leaving their children to fight a difficult and bloody war in their land.
