Exactly two years, spent amid tears, memories, and the pain that remains despite everything. A void left by Najibe Zaher—but also by Giorgia Banchero, Simone Picci, and Alessandro Sanna, the young people who lost their lives at dawn on September 10, 2023, on Viale Marconi —is remembered today by friends and parents with the second memorial held at the sports center on Via Don Bosco, in Selargius.

A soccer tournament, an opportunity to remember the girl who passed away two years ago and to discuss road safety, a topic that father Omar Zaher and mother Merita Agus have brought to schools after that unfortunate accident to educate young people about the importance of driving safely.

They dedicated a tribute to their daughter, written this morning on social media, on the anniversary of the tragedy: "Two years ago, cruel fate took you from us. We saw you for the last time, helpless; you were there, and we couldn't save you. How wonderful it would be to see your face again, your smile, hear your voice, kiss your forehead, hold you tightly, and never let go. You're gone, but you'll never truly be gone because we won't let you go; you're in our hearts, and as long as we live, we will cherish you because you're a part of us. The pain is profound, but knowing you're at peace gives us the strength to continue, as you would have wanted, in trying, in your name, to prevent what happened to you from happening to others, and to prevent other parents from experiencing the immense and eternal pain of losing a child. Wherever you are right now, may all our love, our kisses, hugs, caresses and cuddles reach you up there , following the immense trail of love that you have left behind."
