Two large fires in the Sassari area: canadair in action, state highway 597 closed

Two large fires that broke out around 2 pm in Sassarese , one in Chilivani and one in Codrongianos , are engaging two Canadair and two forestry corps helicopters. In the second fire, due to the flames, the Anas closed state road 597 to traffic.

In Chilivani the flames started from an electrical substation and devoured several hectares of Mediterranean scrub. To put out the fire, in addition to the ground teams of the Fire Brigade and the Forestry, two helicopters intervened.

The second fire broke out almost simultaneously in the countryside between Saccargia and Codrongianos . This fire, more intense and threatening than the first, required the intervention on the ground of the Sassari firefighters and the teams of the Forestry Corps, and it was also necessary to bring two helicopters and two Canadair that are still flying over the area. .
