The appeal proceedings on the appeal filed by Regional President Alessandra Todde against the forfeiture injunction issued by the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board for irregularities in the reporting of expenses for the 2024 election campaign will be decided on February 27, 2026.
Today, the governor's lawyers (Giuseppe Macciotta, Benedetto and Stefano Ballero, and Priamo Siotto) renewed their request to exclude Professor Riccardo Fercia, counsel for the regional guarantee panel, due to a complete lack of ius postulandi. In other words, according to Todde's lawyers, the professor-lawyer is not entitled to appear at the hearing due to the revocation of his mandate.
Fercia defended himself by filing a ruling from the joint divisions of the Court of Cassation, reaffirming the obligation for defense counsel, even if dismissed but not replaced, to continue the defense. It also raised the issue of attorney-client privilege.
The Court, presided over by Judge Cugusi, with Luchi and Bagedda on her sides, declared itself ready to decide and adjourned the hearing to February 27.
The final statements must be submitted by January 25th, and replies will be available until the 30th of the same month.
