A series of shortages of goods worth over 80 thousand euros from the Coop supermarket on Via Anassagora in Pirri , the investigations carried out by a private detective agency and the discovery of thefts that were apparently committed by three employees, with the collaboration, on two occasions, of a municipal councilor .
The matter ended up in the Public Prosecutor's Office in recent days with the complaint filed by Alberto Cellino, the sole director of Supersardissimi srl, which manages the Coop-branded store. A shockwave has arrived at the City Council with the decisions taken by the implicated majority councilor: Alessandro Cao, who clearly and unequivocally declares himself "absolutely innocent of any criminal offence," has resigned from his position as president of the Economic Development and Productive Sectors Committee and suspended himself from the Progressive Party council group .
"This," Cao specifies, "is only to avoid any possible exploitation." For Mayor Massimo Zedda, it is a private matter: "I spoke with the councilor," the mayor emphasizes, "who told me he will be able to demonstrate his honesty."
Three supermarket employees, Stefano Siddi, Luca Vassallo, and Michele Usai , are also under investigation—for now, there's a complaint filed, supported by the investigations conducted by the investigative agency, and the Prosecutor's Office will have to decide whether to launch an investigation. The matter now passes to the Prosecutor's Office.
