Eight individuals had been in trouble for managing a WhatsApp group through which, according to the prosecution, real-time reports were sent on the movements and presence of law enforcement officers in the area. The prosecutor's office alleged that they were complicit in the crime of disrupting a public service: an activity that, according to the prosecution, could have disrupted the proper performance of traffic control services aimed at road safety, public order, and crime prevention.

At the center of the proceedings is the WhatsApp group called "Malos a domare.I," created on an instant messaging platform and intended, according to the charges, to share information about the movements of law enforcement patrols among its members. Today, however, the Court's decision was reached.

Judge Annamaria Puligheddu fully acquitted all eight defendants "because the facts were not proven." The defendants were represented by lawyers Antonello Cao, Giorgio Murino, Gian Piera Pittalis, Josè Porru, and Giuseppe Putzu, who contested the prosecution's reconstruction during the trial.
