Following the revocation of Mayor Domenico Gallus's ordinance , ANAS has issued an official statement regarding the management of the construction site at the Santa Cristina junction , along the SS 131 Carlo Felice, announcing a substantial change to its operating procedures. The company, "following discussions with the Paulilatino municipal administration and the archaeological site management company, announces that starting the night of July 5th, the work to upgrade the Santa Cristina junction will be carried out exclusively at night."

This decision was dictated by the need to ensure easier access to the archaeological area during the summer months , when visitor traffic increases significantly. Therefore, until August 31st, work will be carried out between "9:30 PM and 9:00 AM the following day, and will then resume regular daytime operations starting in September." Anas also specifies that, through a modification to the activities envisaged in the contract, "it has chosen to implement the change in activities and assume the related costs.

This decision was made based on the needs expressed by the municipal administration after the work began, which in recent weeks had expressed concerns about the impact on traffic and access to the archaeological site, which is particularly busy during the summer. The reorganization of the construction site therefore represents a meeting point between the needs of the local area and the planning of the highway authority, with the aim of reducing inconvenience to tourists and farmers, while also ensuring the continuation of the junction upgrade works.
