Fear at sea during the Porto Torres-Genoa crossing: fire aboard the Allegra ship

The fire alarm was raised again on the GNV Allegra ferry upon arrival in the port of Genoa, after departing from Porto Torres.
It happened this morning, during the crossing, around 8:00 a.m., when a small fire broke out in the engine room, affecting one of the four generators, just as the ship was about to reach the Ligurian port. The Genoa fire department was immediately alerted, and they responded to the port along with the local Coast Guard to put out the flames and deal with the emergency situation.
The flames were extinguished within minutes by the ship's crew . Upon the ferry's arrival, firefighters, as per procedure, inspected the engine room and secured the area. Fortunately, no injuries or damage were reported. There are over 800 passengers on board.
