Double conviction for group sexual violence at the Court of Sassari .

The sentence was handed down against two 33-year-olds from Morocco who in 2015, in a cottage on the outskirts of Codrongianos , abused a 50-year-old woman from Oristano whom she met some time earlier on social media .

The sentence was issued late in the evening by the panel of judges chaired by Elena Meloni.

Redouane El Hani and Mohamed Laaraj , defended by lawyers Pietro Cherchi and Salvatore Dettori, were sentenced respectively to 7 and 8 years in prison , with perpetual interdiction from public office and legal interdiction for the duration of the sentence.

This concludes an investigation born almost by chance, two years after the events, following some telephone interceptions made by the Porto Torres carabinieri as part of an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking.

According to what was reconstructed by the investigation, the woman had met one of the two defendants on Facebook , then they had met at the man's house and the appointment had turned into a nightmare, with the two compatriots who had both abused the 50-year-old .

The two had also resumed relations with their mobile phones , threatening the woman to show the photos to her daughter, if it ever occurred to her to report them. She had been silent, but what brought the story to light was the wiretapping of the Porto Torres carabinieri, to which the 50-year-old had confirmed everything.
