A 59-year-old woman sentenced in court in Sassari for defaming a restaurant entrepreneur on Facebook.

In 2016, on her Facebook account, the accused, resident in the Sassari hinterland, had referred to the offended party, claiming that he had opened businesses in Alghero and Sassari after his experiences in Northern Italy and stating: «They think that Sardinian girls - he wrote - are the same as those who work in nightclubs, but then they realize that this is not the case...".

Subsequently, the woman alluded more precisely to the alleged conduct: "They try to make the same proposals to the girls and again find spades as an answer." And the 59-year-old continued by asserting that the man would have taken it out on her, telling her that "her daughter is rude who didn't go to work for him after making him offers that she can't tell her mother."

The 59-year-old concluded the message with the warning: "Girls, watch out for this entrepreneur", mentioning his name.

After the post the man filed a complaint for defamation and yesterday judge Silvia Masala sentenced the accused to a fine of 600 euros, with a suspended sentence and to pay a provisional amount of 2500 euros and 2033 euros in costs for the establishment of civil party.

The woman's defense lawyer was Daniele Solinas, while Salvatore Dettori was the civil party.
