The renovation works at the Alidos Central Theater in via Marconi in Quartu Sant'Elena, carried out by the owners (the Acquas family) are now finished and the Acquas themselves have already set up the space under the grandstand with memorabilia from the old Gioachino Campus cinema : projection machines, equipment and even the old armchairs of the Tripoli Cinema, enriched by photographs that recall the times of the old Imperia, Tripoli and Centrale cinemas.

Only the ribbon cutting would be missing but here things get more complicated. The Alidos theater company, which is renting the facility and which is ready to start the season of shows once the inauguration is done, rebels.

«They didn't inform us of the setting up of that space», says the founder and artistic director of the Alidos Gianfranco Angei, «the theater belongs to us because we rent it and we have to put the company's material in those spaces. It is as if one were to rent a house and the owner wanted to put his paintings in the living room».

Elio Acquas' reply was not long in coming: «We have furnished the space under the grandstand with family heirlooms. We do it for the city and these are memories that will touch the hearts of three generations. It is an intrinsic value, added to culturally re-evaluate a space that would otherwise have remained closed».
