Dozens of Sardinian schools at risk due to the new provisions on "school sizing" envisaged by the Meloni government.

The Democratic Party and the trade unions are sounding the alarm, according to which the island could suffer a cut of about 45 school autonomy as a result of the national law which provides for the unification and closure of schools with fewer than 900 students.

The dem, first signatory councilor Piero Comandini, also presented an ad hoc question to the regional education councilor Andrea Biancareddu to express "strong concern" about the future of school in Sardinia and to ask for a policy to safeguard the current structure school, "in the wider interest of the school community, in consideration of the peculiarities of Sardinia and in compliance with the principles established by the Constitution on the right to study".

Fears and perplexities also shared by the union representatives of the regional Flc Cgil, Uil Scuola Rua, Snals Confsal and Gilda Unams who, in view of the State-Regions Conference scheduled for May 31, are urging the Region to express its dissent by joining forces also with the other southern regions.
