Extremely hot, Cagliari has been given a red code on the eve of Ferragosto (August 15th). Due to the heat emergency, the Ministry of Health has issued a level 3 (red code) alert for tomorrow, Friday, August 14, 2026, the highest level of heatwaves. In the capital, temperatures will remain very high throughout the day. To reduce health risks, the Municipal Operations Center (COC) has issued several measures for tomorrow.

Tuvixedd Park is closed for the entire day. The cemeteries of San Michele, Pirri, and Bonaria are also closed. Their opening hours will be modified (regardless of their usual hours, they will be closed to the public between 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm). Similar measures will apply to the Covered Promenade, the crypt of Santa Restituta, and the Roman Amphitheater.

Health and social services remain highly vigilant. The Social Emergency Service is available 24 hours a day at 345.6865769. Additionally, the Telephone Helpline, established in collaboration with the Red Cross, continues to provide assistance and reports, especially for the elderly and vulnerable. The number to call is 070.0933671, open daily, including holidays, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. To offer relief during the hottest days, the City Council has established climate-controlled shelters, cooler and more comfortable public spaces thanks to the presence of greenery, shade, and drinking fountains. These shelters include the city's main parks, including: San Michele, Monte Urpinu, Terramaini, Musica, Giovanni Paolo II, Ex Vetreria, Giardini Pubblici, Giardino Sotto le Mura, Orto Dei Cappuccini, and Bonaria .

The municipal administration also recalls the ordinance signed by the President of the Region, which introduced specific protection measures for workers employed outdoors in the agricultural, horticultural, construction and plant engineering sectors, who are particularly exposed to the effects of high temperatures.
