It's been a busy day for the Forestry Corps in Gallura, dealing with several fires raging across the region. The flames have erupted in Bortigiadas, Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola, and Loiri Porto San Paolo, necessitating the deployment of several aircraft to contain the blazes and prevent their spread.

In the Bortigiadas countryside, in the Corso La Fronti area, firefighting operations are being coordinated by the Forestry and Environmental Protection Corps. The Director of Firefighting Operations (DOS) of the Bortigiadas Forestry Station is on site.

A helicopter from the Limbara operations base was initially deployed to battle the flames. The helicopter is also operating the area with a thermal imaging camera to more precisely pinpoint the areas still affected by the fire and monitor the progress of the front.

The situation is further complicated by frequent changes in wind direction, which are encouraging the flames to spread and making containment operations more difficult. For this reason, a Canadair, CAN 8, a Super Puma helicopter from the Forestry and Environmental Protection Corps' base in Alà dei Sardi, and a second Canadair from Olbia airport have been dispatched.

In Trinità d'Agultu and Vignola, in the La Scalitta area, another intervention is underway with the support of a helicopter from the Limbara operational base and a further fire has also been reported in the countryside of Loiri Porto San Paolo , in the C. Melca area, here the Forestry Corps is operating with a helicopter from the Farcana base and a second light helicopter from the Limbara base.
