The mayors of the Municipalities of Sant'Antioco, Carloforte, San Giovanni Suergiu, Sant'Anna Arresi, Nuxis, Santadi, Villamassargia, Musei, Tratalias, Piscinas, Giba, Buggerru and Fluminimaggiore contacted the regional councilorship for public works and area to request the allocation of 3 million euros to be allocated to the extraordinary and ordinary maintenance of the housing stock in the Carbonia district.

The 13 mayors of Sulcis Iglesiente underline that the Carbonia district has over 4000 social housing, the highest number in Sardinia compared to the resident population. A heritage, they highlight, certainly dated: most of the accommodations, in fact, are over 50 years old.

The mayors identify the way to go to find the resources and bring home the result in the shortest possible time.

"The Regional Council - reads the letter - made executive the resolution of the Extraordinary Area Commissioner with which he had approved the 2020 report on 30.07.2021. This resolution, it should be noted, made available an administration surplus of 9,959 .407.80 euros ". Here, then, is the request of the mayors: allocate 3 million euros of the surplus to be allocated exclusively to the housing stock, to be divided proportionally throughout the territory of the district taking into account the consistency of the present assets.

Finally, a warning about the very tight deadlines: since the legally binding obligations must be achieved by 31 December, it is important to speed up now in order not to miss the opportunity to make a good maintenance plan.
