Open discussions with the University and the Region regarding " the redevelopment of spaces such as the former Buoncammino prison. And we are also considering the use, again for the benefit of the student population, of the former art school in Piazza Dettori , or the possibility of converting the covered promenade into a study area when not hosting exhibitions."

These are the options outlined by Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda during the third roundtable meeting convened at Palazzo Bacaredda with students represented on the University's central bodies and involved in the ERSU canteen control committee. The meeting was also attended by Regional Councilor for Education Ilaria Portas, City Councilor for Education Giulia Andreozzi, ERSU President Marco Meloni Lai, and the chair of the Regional Council's Culture Committee, Camilla Soru.

The meeting aims to bring about a "change in the sharing of current and future projects and projects in the city, redevelopment of sites, spaces for gathering, and more opportunities, including residential accommodation, for the student population."

In line with the City Plan, signed by several entities based on the needs of all institutions, Zedda commented, "we have activated institutional discussion groups for clear sharing on the city's development. This discussion with students is important for several reasons: we are evaluating mobility, youth gathering places, and, together with the University and the Region, the redevelopment of spaces such as the former Buoncammino prison (which, according to the City Plan, is intended to house public administration offices, ed. )." Then there are the other two spaces: one at the Marina and the other under the Bastion.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the municipal Department of Public Education, there is the possibility of expanding the Youth Card services.

The students emphasized high rents, the need for new spaces, including for associations, and mobility and public transportation, focusing on issues related to scholarships, school cafeterias, and safety.

The announced reopening of the student residence on Via Roma was also welcomed.
