Christian Solinas does not intend to backtrack on the resolution which provides for the feasibility study for the construction of four new hospitals on the island. Nor on the positions taken regarding the Brotzu of Cagliari on which, he said in recent days, "a smokescreen has been raised to fuel confusion and fears".

Probably with the aim of clarifying any misunderstandings, the governor and the councilor for health Carlo Doria intend to meet Brotzu employees tomorrow at 3.30 pm in Aula Atza of the AOB. The employees were informed this afternoon with an email sent by the company management.

I criticize the leader of the Democratic Party, Piero Comandini: «This is yet another institutional slight by the president and the Sardinian Northern League majority. They hold the Regional Council hostage due to their internal problems, and do not come to discuss the latest choices made in health care in the Chamber, where new hospitals are expected to be built, but they find time to campaign within the hospital structures. Time is up and the results are there for all to see, and meetings like this won't be needed to hide one's responsibilities».

Deputy Dem Silvio Lai speaks of "an improper and clandestine meeting without an agenda, for which the power has been assumed to summon hundreds of people who, moreover, are not required to respond to this unheard-of call, but who will feel threatened by a possible absence. This is why it is an initiative that goes beyond the sense of ridicule and is of absolute seriousness in terms of procedures and methods, even for the unsaid that would require an assessment of legal correctness".

Indignation is expressed by the unions: «Our demonstrations under the councilorship and requests for meetings have remained unanswered», protests Diego Murracino of Nursing Up Sardinia, «and we discover with an email that the governor and councilor, in defiance of any rule of correct trade union relations, want to meet all the staff, summoned by email? An incorrect and unacceptable approach ».

THE COUNCILOR'S REPLY

"The Brotzu workers have expressed doubts about the proposal for the new hospitals and it is therefore right and correct to make yourself available to give them explanations in a meeting open to all and whose participation is free". Thus the regional councilor for health, Carlo Doria, responds to the controversy.

According to the exponent of the Council Solinas « raising the tone of the dialectic, to the point of speaking of clandestine and seditious meetings, it seems to me that it is distorting the truth of the facts for the sole use and consumption once again of propaganda, which serves neither the citizens nor they deserve modern and efficient health care, nor do they deserve healthcare professionals with whom discussions must always be open".

According to Doria, building the new hospitals «would bring modernity and efficiency to our regional health system. Those who attack the plan today have complained until yesterday of the structural deficiencies of over fifty-year-old health facilities ».

While the world is going in the opposite direction, says the commissioner, "today there is an instrumental opposition to a project that aims to offer Sardinians those new and modern structures that we too could have and that our Sardinian patients find when they choose to go for treatment in other regions that offer new and modern facilities. This is an authentic short-circuit fueled more and more every day by forcing and exploitation, such as the one on the Brotzu, where the investments that are talked about so much do not go to renovate even one square meter of the old hospital".

The construction of the new hospitals should therefore not be considered "a whim of politics, but it is a moral duty towards the Sardinians and denying this right only out of an ideological choice is irresponsible".
