In a post on his social media channels, animal rights activist Enrico Rizzi announced that, on orders from the Rome Prosecutor's Office, Carabinieri officers from the Nuoro Provincial Command carried out searches of three Sardinian citizens under investigation for death threats against him. Investigators also seized the suspects' cell phones for technical investigations. Rizzi explained that the investigation stems from tensions that erupted on social media after the Ovodda Carnival. At that time, the activist had publicly condemned the presence of "Rodolfo," a camel used in the parade.

The criticism sparked a heated online debate, with some users reportedly making serious threats against Rizzi . These very serious threats were denounced by Rizzi. In recent days, three searches were carried out in Aztara, Desulo, and Oliena, respectively, by Carabinieri officers delegated by the Rome Prosecutor's Office, which has jurisdiction over the area, as the threats were reportedly spread via social media.

Investigations are continuing to reconstruct responsibilities and verify the nature of the contested messages.
