An autopsy on the body of Luca Virde, the 42-year-old from Silanus shot dead last night in Nuoro, is scheduled between today and tomorrow at the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro.

The prosecutor Andrea Ghironi, owner of the investigations, has appointed the medical examiner of Cagliari, Luca Natali, who will have to establish with certainty what were the causes of the man's death.

According to the neighbors who heard the shots, at least three shots were fired that hit Virde, who had been on probation for some time after being sentenced to 15 years and 9 months for the murder of one of his countrymen.

One hypothesis is that the killer, or perhaps even more than one, shot from a car. Hypothesis not yet confirmed by the investigators who are currently analyzing the video footage of the cameras of some buildings in the area. And there are many checkpoints in the area where some interrogations of people close to the victim are also underway.

The carabinieri of the Nuoro Provincial Command this morning returned to the crime scene and searched the area of via Romano Ruiu, a short distance from the Badu 'e Carros prison.

According to an initial reconstruction by investigators, the 42-year-old parked his car shortly before 10pm yesterday to go in the direction of his apartment, in a building on Via Ruiu. The gunshots in the narrow, dark street reached him when he was in the middle of the roadway where he fell into a pool of blood.

In 2013 Virde was sentenced in the first instance, in February of the following year the sentence of the Court of Appeal and the sentence to 15 years in prison. And last night he was returning to his cell after a reward leave.
