Second blackout in a few days in the operating block of San Michele, in Cagliari .

Yesterday morning, around 9:00 a.m., a sudden power outage alerted patients and healthcare workers. The same incident had occurred 10 days earlier, on January 12th , also in the morning: on that occasion , a patient already under anesthesia was awakened .

Now the USB union wants to see clearly and denounces the "total silence" of Arnas Brotzu , which has not responded to a request for clarification sent through the Workers' Representative for Safety, Gianfranco Angioni.

Blackouts in a critical area like the operating block are "extremely dangerous," USB emphasizes, and has asked the company for a detailed report of the events and to open an internal investigation to determine the causes and any responsibilities.

"We also called for the immediate adoption of corrective and preventive measures and the updating of the Risk Assessment Document with specific reference to electrical risks and power continuity in critical areas," the union emphasized.

A letter that remained unanswered, despite its urgency: " The company's failure to respond to events of this gravity is unacceptable . It fuels concern among workers and patients and also creates strong public alarm and growing external visibility regarding a situation that should be handled with the utmost transparency and promptness."
