The 131 dcn reopens at the end of what the head of Anas in Sardinia, Salvatore Campione, defines as "the largest maintenance project ever carried out by Anas on the island" .
A 220 million project with the renovation of 30 viaducts, four tunnels , with an improvement of the systems, with 10 kilometres of new New Jersey barriers, 30 kilometres of drainage carpet .
Work on the Prato Sardo and Sedilo tunnels still needs to be completed : the first construction site is expected to open by next summer, the second by the end of 2027.
"Today we're opening all the viaducts and tunnels, except Sedilo and Prato Sardo," explains Antonio Piu, Regional Councilor for Public Works. "This will increase safety on the 131 DCN, despite knowing that public works create a lot of disruption." Regarding the Mughina tunnel , which is crucial to Nuoro's traffic flow: "The tender process has already been announced; the bids were opened in August, and then work began immediately. This project needed to be accelerated."
Nuoro Mayor Emiliano Fenu also expressed his satisfaction: "The end of a nightmare. Nuoro has been waiting for this moment for a very long time. This is a crucial project on a road that was already feeling the strain of the years."
