Massimo Giletti's appeal to clean up the panoramic viewpoint of the provincial road 102, which connects Gonnesa to Portoscuso, did not fall on deaf ears. The mayor of Gonnesa Pietro Cocco announced that this morning he will have the pitch cleaned up.

The journalist, after having once again ascertained the presence of the illegal dump, had launched a challenge-appeal to the mayors of Gonnesa and Portoscuso, announcing that on Tuesday he would take care of cleaning himself if nothing had changed. «Monday morning we will send a team to clean up the belvedere area on the provincial road - says Pietro Cocco, mayor of Gonnesa -, it is heartbreaking to see how some uncivilized people behave, unfortunately it is a widespread problem everywhere. In the stretch of coast in question it is not the first time that our Municipality has intervened as have some associations and private citizens, despite the fact that it is a provincial road. Therefore we will intervene, helping to clean up that stretch of road. In any case, we invite Massimo Giletti to the Municipality of Gonnesa to offer him a coffee".

Even in Portoscuso they accepted Giletti's appeal. «If he is there on Tuesday, I too will be with him to do my part - says the mayor of Portoscuso Ignazio Atzori -: every day we are busy recovering waste in every corner but it is an unequal battle, unfortunately. It's difficult to prevent and curb this bad habit that disfigures even the most beautiful corners of our territory. Reports such as those of Giletti are welcome, which can be used to raise civil awareness, but we know from experience that an impromptu cleaning does not solve the problem».
