Temporary workers for years, isolated. And for this reason also discriminated against. There are hundreds (out of 1283 who passed the written test) of Sardinian teachers who will have to cross the sea to take the oral test of the stabilization competition: the exam locations are Campania, Basilicata and Marche. None of these regions is served by continuous direct connections. The expected expenses therefore, between travel and compulsory overnight stays, are expected to be high. And in some cases prohibitive.

The complaint is from the regional Flc Cgil, which appeals to the minister to remove "the objective disadvantage which could also lead to the impossibility of taking the test", and to the president of the Region and the Council "to promote useful actions in the same direction" .

«Connections to Campania, Liguria and Marche, as well as to other regions of Italy, are very limited, inconvenient and very expensive», attacks the regional secretary of Flc CGIL, Emanuela Valurta, underlining that the competition notice from the Ministry of Education has envisaged the merging of the testing locations "on the basis of exclusively numerical criteria, without taking the specificities of the island into consideration and, indeed, penalizing aspiring Sardinian teachers compared to their colleagues from other regions".

The Flc recalls that the Constitution establishes the "principle of formal and substantial equality between citizens and the duty of the Republic is to remove the obstacles that limit their participation in the life of the country".

A simple dictation «decidedly ignored by the ministry given that the inconveniences, the economic and temporal commitment required of teachers in Sardinia, could lead to serious difficulties and even the renunciation on the part of the candidates themselves».
