A dog hanged at the Residenza del Poggio, a hamlet of Capoterra.
The Sardinian city councilor, Franco Magi, reported the horror:

"A very serious matter," he explains. " It appears the act was committed by a citizen, hopefully a relatively unknown one, who was exasperated by the sight of stray dogs rummaging through garbage."

Nothing, not even exasperation, according to Magi, "can authorize anyone to commit such atrocious acts, and I ask from now that the local police force investigate, find the culprit, and apply the heavy sanctions envisaged, including, if so regulated, criminal penalties."
