The rainy season has come bursting into Montiferru, bringing with it the feared invasion of mushroom hunters .

Not all respectful of nature and its rules, many are "intrusive" and "arrogant" and after the fruitful search for a good porcino or antunna, often sold in the black to restaurants and shopkeepers, they leave behind a trail of damage to the environment and farms, causing so much malaise.

The most affected areas: the woods of San Leonardo and Scano Montiferro. So many are the inconveniences that sos antunnadores (in Sardinian) cause: disturbance of grazing cattle, dry stone walls and uprooted fences, hindrance to rural roads and wild rest. In short, no respect for the biodiversity of the ecosystem, taken by assault.

The mayor of Scano Antonio Flore Motzo denounces the widespread malpractice: "Damage to public and private property, this is the precious human capital that our mountains are hosting these days. Not a simple hobby, a soothing walk in the woods, but research desperate and violent gain, through our mushrooms ".

Regulatory vacuum , there is no regional law that regulates this custom, which is why the Municipality of Scano thinks about protecting itself: “In the silence of regional policy we have decided to safeguard our citizens. I believe it is appropriate to develop a community and shared reasoning on the possibilities of using the boletus, from a promotional, economic and working point of view ".
