"We ask that our member, Enrico Fiori, participate in the Sartiglia, in derogation of the regulation, as decided and imposed by the Committee and the guilds for Mr. Pietro Putzulu, and that the rule of the maximum age of 65 years for participation in the Giostra be removed." The Cavalieri association is not having it: less than two months from the appointment with the event and "in the disrespectful absence of any feedback from the Sartiglia Committee, it firmly asks for clarification on what was requested in the press release of December 28th."

There is open war between the operational arm of the Oristano Foundation and the association that represents the knights. The bone of contention is the participation in the next edition of the Giostra of the veteran Enrico Fiori, due to having reached the age limit. The same rule, however, would not be applied to another knight over sixty-five, Pietro Putzulu, who on Carnival Sunday will accompany the head of the race of San Giovanni, Diego Pinna.

"The inability to provide any clarification and the continued failure to respect a Regulation written by them but at this point probably not understood, in this delicate moment close to the event, forces our General Assembly of members, meeting on January 2, to ask that our member, Mr. Enrico Fiori, participate in the Sartiglia", writes the Cavalieri association, which adds: "With the hope, despite the numerous meetings, apparently fruitless, held in the past days that once again saw us not invited, we can reach a conclusion to this embarrassing affair".
