The pre-trial detention in Sassari prison has been confirmed for the three individuals of Slavic origin arrested on charges of committing recent burglaries in Pula and Elmas . Judge Silvia Masala ordered the trio—a fifty-year-old, a thirty-year-old, and a thirty-four-year-old—to remain in Bancali, given the serious circumstantial evidence. However, she returned the case files to the Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office, in the case of the thirty-four-year-old, due to territorial jurisdiction.

The trio is under investigation for the theft of approximately €30,000 in jewelry from the "Cara Omar" jewelry store in Elmas on July 29th, and for attempting to do so from the Crai jewelry store in Pula the following day , July 30th, when they were arrested by the Carabinieri a few hours later.
