In Sardinia everything is ready for the third doses of the anti-Covid vaccine starting with the over 40s from December 1st.

"The system is already prepared", said the regional councilor for health Mario Nieddu who is also evaluating possible Open days to speed up the administration. In recent days, the island has progressed with an average of about 600 additional doses and about 3 thousand "boosters", but now we need an acceleration.

Massimo Temussi, Commissioner Ares-Ats, has announced the launch of a communication plan to prevent people from extending the time of the third dose by first undergoing the antibody test. "The operating procedures will be the same as those we have already implemented for the first and second dose with the difference that now the mechanism is more oiled, we have more experience - explains Gabriele Mereu, head of the Ats Sud Sardegna vaccine prophylaxis service - And since these are third doses the mechanism is also easier, because we already know the patients and therefore the anamnesis is also faster ".

No new vaccination centers are planned but the existing ones will be used: "We have the hubs open and therefore people can book themselves to do the third dose - confirms Mereu - then of course we are doing the third doses of RSA with mobile vaccination points, in nursing homes and hospitals for health personnel, in addition to municipal vaccination points. There are also family doctors on the field ".
