There is another way to travel, far from the frenetic pace, where every step tells a story and every flavor gives back an identity .

It's slow tourism, the kind enjoyed on foot or by bike, amidst the scents of the hinterland and the memories of working hands . And from September 22nd to 27th, the Gal SGT – Sarrabus, Gerrei, Trexenta and Campidano di Cagliari – is showcasing it with a week of events that is much more than a program: it's a declaration of intent.

A large collective fresco that, while officially closing the 2014/2022 programming period, opens a new window on the future of Sardinia's rural areas.

Naturalmente Per.SI – Paths, Trails and Itineraries, the project funded by the Sardinia Regional Development Plan (PSR), is the heart of this journey that unites sustainable tourism, local development and cultural regeneration.

It starts from September 22nd to 24th with a real exploration of the territory, entrusted to the eyes (and smartphones) of content creators, travel bloggers and environmental guides.

The goal? To showcase three iconic itineraries: discovering Trexenta, cycling through Sarrabus and Gerrei, and the stages of the Sentiero Italia in the heart of the Gal. An experiential test tour that aims to revitalize the region through the authentic narration of its landscapes, its silences, and its communities.

The highlight will be Friday 26 September, when Piazza Marconi in Villaputzu will be transformed into the “ephemeral capital” of the local economies .

From 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the Local Fair will enliven the town with stands, workshops, tastings, and artistic performances. Visitors will be able to savor beekeeping products, discover the secrets of wool and obsidian craftsmanship, experience the beauty of plant weaving, and engage with those who preserve this knowledge every day.

There will also be spaces for taste education (thanks to the students of the G. Dessì Food and Wine Institute), incursions by street artists and a widespread photography exhibition, signed by authors such as Simone Mizzotti, Ivo Rovira, Ana Ponce, Lorenzo Naitza and Fabio Crobu: a story in images of the Gal members at work, visible in the streets and shops of the centre.

The grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th at 4:30 PM in the Selegas Municipal Library , with the conference "Territories in Transition: The Future and Challenges of the Rural World in Times of Crisis." Moderated by LAG Director Silvia Doneddu, the meeting will bring together mayors, agricultural entrepreneurs, technicians, academics, LAG representatives, and regional politicians.

The goal? To build a shared agenda to combat depopulation and design new, more equitable development models capable of combining economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social cohesion. As Antonino Arba, president of the Gal Sgt, emphasizes: "This meeting aims to be a moment of collective construction of an agenda for the future, where farmers, young people, professionals, and institutions come together to imagine a land that leaves no one behind."
