With the definitive suspension of cooperative professionals, the Oristano health authority is also implementing initial countermeasures to avoid repercussions on the emergency response.

A resolution approved in recent days awarded seven freelance positions to doctors with foreign qualifications, assigned to company emergency rooms. The contracts will last six months, for a maximum of 38 hours per week, with a gross salary of €60 per hour.

The selection process, however, is still open. After an initial process concluded with only one assignment, the Local Health Authority (ASL) has reopened the deadline until July 3rd. Nine expressions of interest have been received so far , and given the urgency, the committee has begun examining them in order of arrival, "also to avoid the closure of hospital emergency rooms."

The resolution also highlights "the impossibility of carrying out the activities outlined in the project with personnel currently employed by the Company," as well as the need to "ensure the achievement of the essential levels of assistance." The selected professionals, almost all of whom are foreign, were deemed suitable after assessing their qualifications, training, and adequate knowledge of the Italian language. The expected investment exceeds €340,000.

Meanwhile, the Local Health Authority has also assigned eleven positions to retired general practitioners, who will be employed until December 31st in Ascot and Community Centers to strengthen primary care in the locations still unfilled.
