There are no queue-busting machines to dispense paper numbers, just impossible temperatures inside and outside the ASL outpatient clinic.
At the healthcare facility in Andriolu, Porto Torres, lines continue to form under the sun and unbearably heat, from 6 a.m. until noon.
The air conditioning system is out of order , causing inconvenience to employees and patients. This morning, July 1st, patients arrived at the clinic at dawn, waiting to re-register with Dr. Riccardo Gustavo Lai, who has taken over the practice.
Crowds in the outdoor area caused paradoxical situations. Users needed to renew their registration at the SAU offices, namely the Scelta e Revocato desk. Alternatively, those more tech-savvy could register through the Sardegna Salute portal, in accordance with the instructions of the Sassari Local Health Authority.
"It's not possible to enter the clinic due to space constraints, but outside there aren't the right conditions to withstand the high temperatures, especially for the elderly," complain the patients. To avoid health risks, they've found a small, shaded space in front of the permanent police station to wait their turn . It's been like this for two weeks now . The exasperation was evident on their faces. "It's a disgrace. They're treated like animals, the lines move slowly, and the heat could play nasty tricks."
